Long lasting Window Units

We bought this window unit for an addition we added onto our house. We had an 11,000 btu GE window unit previously that lasted about 7 years. It was still working, it was just getting moldy inside and it caused it not to be able to drain the water through the drain hole, so we just wanted to get a new clean one. We have been very happy with our old GE unit and decided to buy another. Eventually we would like to put in a split unit but this happened unexpectedly so we just went for another window unit for now. The new one is much more efficient and maybe a little quieter.

It does really well keeping the rec room cool. It's not the quietest but it's in the rec room so doesn't bother us. However when it rains it spits a lot water inside of the room. Like the inside front has water all over it. I love that I can operate it from my phone.

I purchased this product, and by the second day of use, it began making loud noises and started leaking water inside my house. This was extremely disappointing, especially for a brand-new appliance. To make matters worse, when I contacted GE customer service, I was told they do not service this product. They also said they could not refund my money, and the only solution they offered was a voucher. I expected a much better level of customer support and a proper resolution for a defective product. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience, and I would not recommend this product based on its poor quality and the lack of adequate customer service.

Best AC I have ever used. Here in NorthEast Indiana it can sometimes feel like a swealtering Southeastern Asian jungle with the heat and humidity combined, take that along with living in a 100 some year old craftsman home, and it gets HOT. This year we had to get a new AC, and this is the one! I waited to post this review until after a couple months of use, and I must say it is effective, and efficient! Little and I mean very little jump on my electrical bill, even with near constant use. Cools down a large portion of my house very quickly too. If you need to blast some cold air this unit can do it. Very minimal noise as well, which makes using it even more of a pleasure. Installation was easy easy, only slightly challenging part is the weight from the size of the unit. Instructions were very clear and concise when setting up/installing. Condensation wise, NONE. If you keep it running smoothly with regular cleaning of the fins, and filter, there is no condensation whatsoever. Very happy with my purchase.

Cools down room quickly. Only issue I have is that when it is pulling the moisture out of the room it is bouncing the water off of the fan and blowing it back into the room. Have had to cover the floor below it as it is getting wet.

Junk will never buy a GE product again. The air conditioner top of the coil freezes it blows 50 degree air. Bought it at Lowes last weekend they said it was over 48 hours to return it so we're stuck with it. Lesson learned don't buy GE.

It cools just fine if you can keep it on what you set it to. You set it to cool at 78 an then you notice you are getting hot later and it has changed to eco. And I did not do it. Sounds like a glitch in the software.

Unseen damage from mishandling

I bought this at Lowe's in Pottstown. I didn™€™t see it until I opened the box and saw that there was a hole punched in the side of the box. Something punched the box and put a hole through the front grill, damaging the evaporator. Ugh.
